Overview:Algorithmic governance, understood as the use of artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms to support or make decisions within public institutions, is becoming increasingly widespread. Among the many debates surrounding this development, particular attention has been paid to its implications for human agency.
This seminar offers the opportunity to engage with cutting-edge research on this topic from multiple disciplinary perspectives, while critically analysing these contributions through the lens of the sociology of technology and innovation.
Additional information
In modules 09 and 10 (core subject) and module 06 (minor subject) , one “Vertiefungsseminar“ and one “Wahlveranstaltung“ must be taken.A term paper must be written in one of the seminars per module. The topic of the term paper must be discussed in advance with the supervisor. Assignments whose topic has not been discussed in advance may be rejected.
